I really hate mondays.  Even though I really work pretty much every day of the week, I really have a hatred for Mondays as they are the theoretical start of a new week, and I can cry quietly for all the things that I didn’t get done last week.  There is an insane personal pressure to do better and complete things on time, and the ticking on Mondays is truly a maddening thing.

Okay, I am testing a new feature here that I might use on some of my other blog sites. Basically, it is a RSS feed collector that puts some good links on the right hand column for other blogs. In this case, I made one for little tit site (something I write) just to test it out and see if it works without being too painful for anyone. In the long run, my goal is to be able to import some hot information from other blogs and let you find it quicker.

I also have some other ideas of what to do with it, I am just not sure that it will work out… RSS is suppose to be really simple, but some people seem to think simple shoudl be hard! 🙂

I am playing around a little bit with the theme (layout) of this site, looking for something a little more interesting and at the same time challenging and thoughtful. I am working on this nice three column deal, but it is truly a pain in the butt to get working.

I have recently been re-reading the book Gonzo Marketing (from one of the guys who wrote Cluetrain Manifesto, which was a very strange but interesting book. Gonzo is fun because it was written in 2001, and it sort of previews the idea of blogs and self publishing, but it really also does show how the future of the internet can be accurately predicted by some people. However, it really does sort of miss some things, and doesn’t take the time to address something that I find truly important in the blog / personal space world: Accuracy.

(They nailed SUV girl… somehow she just sort of stopped and they got her out of the SUV without too much trouble – no bloodshed or massive accidents, lucky!)

Blogs give everyone (including me, which sort of makes this a little weird) a chance to say whatever they want. We can express opinions, post messages, and even “report” things. In a sense, it is a unique situation that has allowed everyone in the world to become citizen reporters. However, most citizen reporters are not held up to the standards of truthfulness or completeness, and many blogs are packed full of lies, untruths, and partial stories that just don’t play very well. If someone comes and read that that blog and thinks the information is in fact true, then that blog has misinformed and mislead the public – which is something that the normal news media is suppose to stay away from.

There is no check, no balance, no standards… just spew.

Chistopher Locke (the author of Gonzo Marketing) attempts to write this off as “involved” reporters, that people can be anything but neutral but still able to report fact. His feeling seems to be that somehow the “relevance” of the reporter is somehow better than the facts being correct.

I am working on an idea regarding the state of blogging, the internet, and the universe of disinformation that is out there… it is really amazing.

Another few days in the salt mines… between doing accounting and working on porn, I would certainly pick porn every time 🙂

Well, the super bowl has come and gone… I won some monopoly money by having the right final score (how unusual for me to win at anything) and a good time was had by all in front of the HD tv. I guess I get a weekend off for good behavior. Once I finish up with some stupid and annoying shit I have to do, I will be ont he road to my buddy Greenguy’s place to enjoy the superbowl week. Being in Canada, I get an extra benefit in that I actually get to see the real US ads, as opposed to the worthless crap the canadian networks stick in there. Joy! Maybe they can outdo the monkeys as “money coming out of his ass” ones from years past…

So I will have a laptop with me and I will be working on getting shit done even when I am there, but safe to say that I won’t be working anywhere near as hard as normal. I think the game is going to be a good one, with two teams hungry for a win and no more of that NE team to get in the way of a good game. I did well on the pools and stuff last year, so I hope I can repeat again. It’s all good!

One thing that this will involve is a drive in the freezing rain and slush to get there. It is about a 7 hour drive, not too bad really, and I enjoy the trip. I enjoy driving, so it isn’t a big thing for me, but the weather is so unpredictable this time of the year that I never know what is going to happen next. Sort of have to bring shorts and a winter jacket, because honestly, who knows?

Hopefully it will all work out well, and if so, I will be back in the big chair Monday to bring you more porn and other annoying stuff! 🙂

Happy New Year 2006 to all my readers and fans all over the planet. I know I have been quiet over the holidays, there has been a ton of stuff going on in my personal life that has really knocked me for a loop, rearranging many of my priorities and making stuff come much clearer. I can tell you without a doubt that changes at any level can be painful, but the end results can often be better than just standing there frustrated, hurt, and feeling wrong.

2006 is also a good time to start new projects. I actually started on one new project last week, and it is coming along nicely. I am using it as a chance to more fully learn CSS and all the nice things I can do with it, and it is truly a learning experience. Yes, the new project is a link site, but with some new bells and whistles and even a free to join member’s area. I am really excited about this one, I think it has the potential to be a big winner. The other thing is that I will be building some nice new “back end” technology to go with it, so I will get a double dip on the project, as I will be able to roll that stuff out over the long run for all sorts of areas and ideas.

Basically, it will be a culmination of much that I have learned in the last couple of years, putting a superior product on the table that you guys and girls will love and that I will enjoy maintaining.

Speaking of maintaining, I think everyone will be happy because in the new year, I will be posting way more in this blog, and opening up a bit more about things I am working on. I have a ton of good ideas, and I will be developing them over time and letting you people here be amoungst the first to see them…
