Top of the news today by far is that pop-tart and general weirdo Britney Spears apparently finally went over the edge last night, locking herself in a room with one of her young children when he was suppose to leave to be with his father. Well, the police were called, the ambulance was called, and Britney (or who Perez Hilton calls Unfitney) was dragged off to hospital and is now under what appears to be a 14 day lockdown, possibly for evaluations (and maybe a detox? Ahh, 2007 has been one of “those” years for me personally.  Plenty of ups and downs, plenty of action, some amazing things have happened, and well, some things have happened that really took it out of me.  Overall, it hasn’t been so bad.

2007 Good:  Plenty of new sites.  My site Porniki The Porn Wiki is coming along nicely.  It isn’t quite as big as I would hope, but it is growing well.  Pornpig is quite popular and doing well, and with the latest tools the site updated 6 times a day with fresh stuff.  Plenty of new blogs and things, like All Teen Tits and XXX Sex Hardcore, and generally all good things.  My favorite girl on the web for 2007 is probably Ariel Rebel, she has been online for a little while now, but 2007 was the breakout year for this petite hotty.  Yummy!

2007 Bad:  War, politics, religion,  and all combinations thereof.  Scamming sites, toolbars, viruses, and all other sorts of stuff.  The sad reality is that the internet is turning into a huge magnet for some of the biggest scammers.   Also sad to see a number of amateur girl sites close down, and too see some of my friends and coworkers leave the adult world for other parts of the net universe.  Good for them, but we lose when they leave.

It’s been a pretty weird week around here. First off, Porniki (the porn wiki) has been doing pretty well. I am working on adding stuff over there every day, and people generally seem to like the site. It didn’t take me long to get back here to post, now did it?  I have been busy as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest, getting all sorts of stuff done.  One of the biggest things is I am in the process of preparing my house for sale.  I know, it ain’t porn, but I sure feel tired like a mofo when I get to the end of the day.  In the last month I have painted 5 rooms (flat white ceilings, color walls, semi-gloass white mouldings) and cleaned a bunch more, installed a central vacuum system, and generally cleaned everything up.  I still have 2 rooms left to work on, but I will get it done.  Sort of kicks my ass, it is really a ton of work.

One of the weirdest things I discovered about working on the internet is the two step thing called Internet Time.  Internet Time runs at two speeds.  The difference between those two speeds is what creates the frenzied need for patience.

The First speed is the instant on, always there, updated 3 seconds ago web, the web where everything you put out there is seen and heard immediately.  No wait time, the internet goes as fast as you can hit the enter key.   That is what gets you instant headline news, updated blog feeds, and all sorts of other stuff.  As soon as I push publish on this post, it will be live and anyone coming to the site will see it.

The second speed is the dog slow discovery speed of the net.  There are so many people pushing enter, clicking publish, adding new sites and pages, and generally tossing new information, that the systems in place to find that new information are incredibly slow.  As an example, I recently redid a site I own called You Got Porn.  Now, the time between the point that I update the site and the major search engines like Google and Yahoo will discover the changes and do something about it can be up to 6 months.

So when you are working on something new, you have to hurry up and get it done, and then wait endlessly for the fruits of your labors to be borne.  Internet time.  Hurry up and wait!

War, the movie that is.  Jet Li and Jason Stratham, and for your asian girl fans, the unique looking Damon Aoki, daughter of Bennihana restuarant chain founder Rocky Aoki.   I mention her mostly because she turns out to be the only decently hot asian girl in a movie full of asian men.   The movie overall is interesting, although Jet Li looks a little like he mailed this one in from vacation.  Also, no matter what the trailers and move posters would suggest, the War aspect of the movie isn’t between Li and Stratham, which may disappoint some.   In Canada, the movie is rated 13 plus for violence, and they aren’t kidding.  The girl sitting next to me flinched about 5 times, and at one time was pointedly looking somewhere else to avoid the on screen action.  The gore isn’t on screen long, but they aren’t shy to show how people are fatally wounded.
